Thursday. Take a breath.

August 4th was our anniversary, and after the last 5 days of whirlwind thinking we needed a break from the house. We decided that a quick dinner out and more house hunting was in order. Yes. We were still looking at other houses. Maybe we would find one we liked better, or that was in better shape. It never hurts to look.

This was the first house we looked at. It's still in the foothills (is it obvious???)
and has great views of the valley. It was a nice house, but not for us.

Next, we looked at an adorable little (key word, here) house that happened to be across the street from the first house. Not on the hillside, so it has easier access to the whole property.

This house was really cute, but needs a ton of work. Plus the size and layout would not work for our family.

From there we drove over the hill to a 1.6 acre property with a ramshackle "contractor's special". We figured we might be able to tear out the, um, house, and build from the ground up...
Okay, not so much. Moving on...

We scratched these properties off our list and realized (once again) that we had found a gem. A rough gem, but a true gem, nonetheless.

Day Six
