As promised I managed to wrangle some pictures off my husband's computer. Strangely, though, I have discovered that there are some pictures that just don't exist. Yet. I know that we will be up at the house on Saturday - if not later today - so I will make sure to take a few shots of what we don't have pictures of yet. Until then, here ya go...
This was taken from down the hill. Our house (well, hopefully our future house) is in the upper left of the photo.
Another angle of the house from below. The chimney in the picture is in the Sunset Room.
This shot was taken down the hill, but looking toward the other direction. Our property ends somewhere way off in the distance...
Back up on the deck, this was taken near the western corner. On the right is the Sunset diningroom. From the center left is the Sunset room and the Sunset kitchen. Have I explained why I name some of the rooms? The first time we went through the house, we sorta got lost. Going in and out doors took us around the house (inside & out) in various directions. As we tried to talk to each other about the house, we realized that we had to differentiate the rooms somehow (looking back, the conversations have been extremely comical!). Anyway, because of the built-in shelves, we call the first livingroom 'the library'. The second livingroom became the Sunset room because of the great views, plus the fact that most of the walls are glass and it's VERY hot in there in the afternoons. Have I mentioned that in that room alone, there are 3, yes, three, 8 foot sliding glass doors? That's in addition to several very large windows. And, you guessed it - all of the glass is single pane!
This is a shot on the north-eastern side of the Sunset room. The decking here is falling apart (but as yet, not unsafe - at least for us). Looking straight ahead you can see one of the many additions. This particular one happens to be a very large pantry off the sunset kitchen. By adding this pantry and the large wine room on the other side of it, the previous owners blocked off the path from the covered patio out to the deck.
On the other side of the house, we're back in the covered patio. I know I posted a picture earlier, but I think this gives a little larger image. Off to the right (out of the picture) is the latticework gate that leads to the front of the house.
This shot was taken from the other corner. The light colored door has been permanently sealed closed. On the other side of the door is a closet in one of the 5 bathrooms. We call this bathroom the guest bath, since we plan to make it a half-bath and then open a hallway into this courtyard for guests to enjoy with us. The bathroom is directly behind kitchen #1 (the library kitchen - the one we're keeping). The open latticework door you see leads into the old potting shed. Just to the left of the open door is another latticework door - this one leads out to the front of the house.
